Buff Orpington
These hens were created by William Cook in the county of Kent in the late 19th century. These days their egg laying ability has declined but will still lay well over a 100 eggs a year. They are good free rangers but not flyers. Their docile nature means they make good broody hens and mothers and their large size means they can cover a large amount of eggs.
