Plymouth Rock
This breed are good layers of large cream coloured eggs, about 200 a year. It originated in America and was introduced to this country at the turn of the 20th century. It is agood utility bird and so well recognized for this that it was used to create the famous Black Rock hybrid. The hens were crossed with Rhode Island Red cockerels producing sex linked chicks with the hens that are prolific layers.
